European project
French Embassy, Goethe Institute, Embassy of Italy, Embassy of Spain and Portuguese Cultural Centre Bangkok - Instituto Camões are the 5 EUNIC members developing a singular project in the field of fashion design with Silpakorn University International College and Faculty of Decorative Arts.
A workshop is organized with 10 Thai students and 5 europeans students. All the EUNIC members involved in this project have already links with Silpakorn University.
EUNIC Clusters will take advantage of this common schedule to involve the European fashion designers students on workshop with local fashion designers students.
The objective of this project is to develop sustainable partnerships based on an expanding sector and international exchange and, in the same time, to assert the theme of sustainable development.
Process

One workshop during 15 days at CAT Tower Building.
Each European/Thai team will work and produce clothes and accessories. The Challenge : use a recycling material (bag, shoes, scarf, jewelry…) for one piece of their creation.
Students will be trained by 2 professors from Silpakorn University : Ms. Anugoon Buranaprapuk & Mr. Piyawat Pattanapuckdee.

Bangkok. Paris. Two big cities which seem very different at first sight but like every capitals they have a common point: inequality. Through this design we want to illustrate those inequalities to show that Thailand and France are not that different.

Plastic is damaging Earth, especially in our both cities. We were inspired by this problem, therefore we used plastic as the main focus for the design. Our project is an idea of how plastic can be used to create a dress. Even if it is a material that is apparently very poor, with manipulations it can become a very precious and valuable aspect. We combine both baroque style fashion from Italy and Thai style.
Materials udes : plastic bags, white and beige cotton fabrics, trimmings and rope ( jute, candle, plastic, viscose )

The outfit is a symbol of the encounter between Hilke from Hamburg and Jirapha and Porntip from Bangkok. The dress stands intertwining cultures and colors of Bangkok. The jacket is inspired by the oxidized copper roofs of Hamburg. The outfit expresses contrast between of the extrovert culture of Bangkok with the reserved culture of Hamburg. But if you open the jacket and see the colourful lining, both are not so different after all.

Thai-Spanish creation

This piece represents the fusion between Thailand and Spain through dance : Likay from Thailand and Flamenco from Spain. The piece shows elements from both of the typical costumes used for these dances. The ruffles from the flamenco dress and the shine and crystals from the Likay. The recycling materials are used as any other fabric would be, and the whole look mixes different colors and patterns. The raw edges of the fabrics, shows the chaos but fun as well dancing together.

“Night Flower” is inspired by the LGBT and drag counterculture. It is influenced by the idea of drag queens as the flowers that bloom at night. We used the Pa-Tung and Pa Khao Ma, fabrics that represents both female and male. We wanted Night Flower to show the fluidity of genders, in it's pride, and in it's liveliness.
